I wrote this report on behalf of my group in our Fall 2011 Writing in the Professions class. This class was a major component of the Professional Writing minor. We were in the midst of creating a website for our client, and we had to submit a report explaining our progress. Writing this report was completely different from the typical "English-major" essay, and I think this report is an example of my ability to write technically. I incorporated a chart to show how many tasks my group had completed, and I organized it by using different headings. After writing multiple reports in this class, I've learned to consider design features in technical writing. Being able to express myself clearly, efficiently, and briefly is a skill I also learned when writing this report. Technical writing is certainly different than a lot of my other writing, and I am continuing to learn more about its differences. The Professional Writing minor has helped me expand my abilities as a writer.
